She was born April 18, 1943, to James Lewis Henson and Alma Lavon Henson at their home in Jackson County. She was the sixth child of 10.
She was preceded in death by her parents; six brothers, Harold Lloyd Henson, William Clarence Henson, Kenneth Wayne Henson, Gary Dean Henson, James Wilber Henson and Raymond Alfred Henson; and a sister Vivian Ruth Christopher.
She is survived by her husband of 44 wonderful years, Robert Deward Crites Sr.; a sister, Frances Mae Dumond; a brother, Terry Lee Henson; her seven children, Tina Marie Holler, Frances Lavon Cassady, John Robert Ray, Robert Deward Crites Jr., Michael Dean Ray, Mark Anthony Crites and William Floyd Ray; more than 20 grandchildren; more than 20 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She loved us one and all.
A funeral service will be held at Chandler Funeral Home in Ellettsville, 203 E. Temperance St. at 11 a.m. Wednesday with the Rev. Tim Wiles officiating. Interment will be at Valhalla Memory Gardens. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
A reception will follow at 5185 W. State Road 46, Ellettsville.
