1940 Jan 26-Death: Mrs. Claudia Claud Davis Mosby, former resident of Forrest City passed away this morning at her home in Memphis following a long illness. Mrs. Mosby was a descendant of Jefferson Davis, President of the Confederacy. Mrs. Davis had made her home in Memphis for the last 32 years, and was a member of the St. Marys Episcopal Church. Surviving her are her husband, John Lewis Mosby, Sr. ; one son, John Lewis Mosby, Jr.; one daughter, Miss Hester Mosby, of Memphis; six sisters, Mrs. Emily House Davis (Eugene J.) Barrow and Mrs. Eliza Davis (John A.) Cargill of Forrest City; Mrs. Minor Atkinson, Miss Myrtle Davis of Memphis; Miss Pearl Davis of Little Rock; Mrs. Joe Mosby of Crawfordsville; two brothers, Ben Davis of Little Rock and John Davis of Forrest City.
