Lake Charles - Alden "Billy" Bertrand, 81, passed away Wednesday, June 11, 2014 at his residence.

He was a resident of Creole for 55 years. He loved hunting, fishing, gardening, reading and watching old western movies, especially Gun Smoke. He was the Patriarch of his family.

He is survived by his son, Joseph Curtis Bertrand of Grand Lake; daughters, Beverly Faye Salter of Cameron; Brenda Sue Grimm and husband Dave of Lake Charles; Cynthia Ann Bell and husband James of Holmwood; brother, Bobbie Bertrand and wife Inda; six grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Geneva Faye Boudreaux Bertrand; son, John Robert Bertrand, parents, Senua and Avia Bertrand; brothers, Ronald Bertrand and Junior Bertrand; sisters, Gladys Kelley and Ada Mae Brady.

His service will be 11:00am, Friday, June 13, 2014 at Christ the King Catholic Church. Father Rojo will officiate. Visitation will be Thursday from 3:00pm until 9:00pm with a rosary at 6:00pm and resume Friday from 8:00am until time of service. Burial will follow at Chenier Perdue Cemetery.
