Erma (Kisselstein) Haney
Obituary
Erma Kisselstein Haney, 100, passed away peacefully on June 9, 2014 with her loving family by her side. She was a wonderful wife, mother, sister and grandmother who cherished every relationship she was blessed to have. Erma was a member of St. Stephen Lutheran Church, Nottingham Knolls Country Club and the Liederkranz Women's Auxiliary. She was predeceased by her husband and six sisters and brothers.
She is survived by her daughter, Sandra Reis (Joseph); her son, Gordon Haney (Ladon); three grandsons, Ian, Evan and Joseph (Tia); special friends, Richard, Christopher, Tom and Birgit; a niece and several nephews.
Erma was deeply loved and her zest for life and indomitable spirit kept her forever young. One of the roles she treasured most was that of partner and caregiver for her husband, John, particularly in his later years. It gave her great comfort to know that she guided him through his journey and she was grateful for the 66 years they shared together and for the countless friends and acquaintances who she touched with her natural charm and sincere kindness. She brought joy into the hearts of everyone she met and we will miss her more than words can say.
We would like to thank all those who provided help and loving care to our mother and enabled her to enjoy life's blessings for so many years. Private funeral services were held by the family.
Contributions may be made to St. Stephen Lutheran Church, 873 Dewitt Street, Syracuse, NY 13203.
