He was the son of Asa T. CURL and Mary Olive (Winans) Curl.
He drowned while living in San Francisco, California. His body was brought back to Colorado, accompanied by his brother, Harrison (also known as Linol).

Funeral -the Funeral of Roy Curl, who was drowned in San Francisco, Cal., last week, will be held this afternoon at 2:30 o'clock from the undertaking rooms of Fairleys & Law, the Rev. G. B. Stewart officiating. The body arrived here yesterday accompanied by Linol Curl, a brother. There were numerous floral offerings from friends in California.
