  Alhambra, IL--Funeral services for Orlando E. (Sol) Ludwig, a retired mechanic of Route 2, will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday from Salem United Church of Christ.  The Rev. Arnold Bizer will officiate and interment will be in the church cemetery.
  Mr. Ludwig died Tuesday about 9:45 a.m. at his residence. He served on town board, and was a member of the Alhambra Volunteer Fire Department and ATA.
  Survivors include his mother, Mrs. Laura Schmidt Ludwig of St. Louis; his wife, the former Sadie Peters, whom he married March 5, 1925 at Lincoln, eight children, William P. of East Alton, John of Gillespie, Robert E. of Alhambra, Mrs. Charles (Lily) Jarvis of Great Lakes, Mrs. Jacob (Laura) Favre of Geneseo, Mrs. Herbert (Dorothy) Fellhauer of Edwardsville, Mrs. Norman (Peggy) Plog of Andalvsia and Mrs. Dan (Mary) Stites of San Clara, Calif.  Also surviving are a brother and three sisters, Albert M. Ludwig and Mrs. Dorothy Gindler of Troy, Mrs. Celia Aydelott, St. Louis, and Mrs. Lorla Miller, Stillwater, Minn.; and 23 grandchildren.
  He was born June 8, 1903 at Victor, Ia.  His father, William P. Ludwig, preceded him in death.
  Friends may call after 6 p.m. today at the Dauderman Mortuary until 11 a.m. Thursday when the body will be taken to the church to lie in state until the service.
