Vina Jordan Switzer was the youngest of 13 children born to Abraham and Lucinda Rebecca Holmes Jordan of Indianola, IL. she attended Eastern Illinois University at Charleston and taught school from about 1913-1917. She was 5'7" with blue eyes and brown hair. She married James William Switzer, Sr., February 13, 1918. They had one child, James William Switzer, Jr., born Oct. 28, 1919, at Sidell IL.
Vina was the secretary of the first Jordan Reunion (1926) and continued for several years (John Jordan descendants). She was active with the reunion as long as she was living in IL. She was President of the American Legion Auxiiary at Georgown IL where she and Bill lived most of their married life. She volunteered for the Red Cross during WW II and was on the Georgetown library board. In her later years she lived with her son in Washington State.
