Mr. Dean was a retired funeral director and insurance agent and a florist. He was a member of Temple Baptist Church of Winnsboro and a member of Woodman of the World Camp No. 440 for 40 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George M. Dean and Martha Priscilla Sasser Dean.

He was survived by his wife, Lessie Mae Coughran Dean of Winnsboro; three sons, J. W. Dean and Robby Dean, both of Winnsboro, and Joe M. Dean of West Monroe; two sisters, Mrs. Curtis Cobb and Mrs. G. C. Busby, both of Winnsboro; and 6 grandchildren.
