Blair Man, 44, Died Suddenly Early Thursday

Marion Paul Everhart, well-known Blair man, succumbed to a heart attack early Thursday morning, August 7th. The Blair Rescue Squad was called to transport him to the hospital at Blair, but he died before aid could reach him. He was 44 year old.

He was born at Elgin, Nebraska, November 17, 1924. As a young boy he moved with his family to Orchard, Nebraska, and came to Blair to make his home about 20 years ago.

Since living in Blair, he has been employed by the Nebraska State Highway Department, working out of the material and equipment yard at Blair.

He served in the United States Navy during World War II.

He was married to Katherine Edwards, of Orchard, who survives him.

Also surviving are three sons, Robert, of Norfolk, Virginia, Richard of San Francisco, both serving in the Navy; and John Everhart, who lives at Wahoo, Nebraska.

His parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Everhart, of Blair, also survive, as well as two sisters, Mrs. James Williby, of Blair and Mrs. Charles Rouse, of Wahoo, Nebr. There is one granddaughter.

He was a member of the Blair Chapter of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and also the Eagles.

Funeral services are being held this (Monday) morning at the Campbell Mortuary. Father Patrick Nolan is conducting the service and burial is being made in Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery. Military rites will be conferred at the graveside.

Pallbearers are Art Jipp, John Brown, Russell Puffer, Charles Adams, Ed McCain and Ray Trammer.
