Eddy Allen Williams Sr., 78, passed away Sunday, June 1, 2014, at Skyridge Medical Center of Cleveland.

Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Betty Joyce Williams; son, James Todd Williams; brother, Buddy Williams; sister, Jean Hamilton; grandchildren, Joshua Allen Williams, Rebecca Lynn Williams, and Jessica Ann Shaw; great-grandchildren Antonio Malakai Kinsey and Aleksia Lynn Kinsey; dear friend Andy Roberts; and many close family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Amanda Gillim; his father, Homer Williams; a stepfather, Lloyd Gillim; brothers, Bill and Bob Williams; a son, Eddy Allen Williams, Jr; and a daughter, Lisa Ann Shaw.

Eddy Allen Williams, Sr. retired from the Air Force after 23 years of service and was an educator at Tennessee Technology Center at Athens for many years.

Visitation and funeral services will be held on Friday, June 6 at Bordwine Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 12-2 p.m. and a ceremony will follow, to be officiated by Aaron Pierce and Richard Tallent.

Following the observances, family and friends will proceed to McMinn Memory Gardens for a committal service with full military honors.

Eddy Allen Williams was, and will be remembered always, as a joyful, generous, and loving man. To have known him was to have won the world. To honor his life the family asks that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Air Force Aid Society (www.afas.org) in the name of Master Sargent, Eddy Allen Williams Sr., Retired.
