She married Dale Ahlstrom on May 31, 1961, in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. A graduate of BYU, she earned a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education and taught 3rd grade at Kuna Elementary. She was also a licensed cosmetologist. Jennie dedicated her life to serving others. She served in countless leadership roles within the Relief Society, Primary and Young Women organizations. She and Dale served a full-time mission, assigned to Temple Square in Salt Lake City, Utah, from Dec. 2008 to June 2010.
She was a loving wife and devoted mother. Jennie was well-known as an excellent cook and was a talented painter and artist. She and her husband enjoyed ballroom and square dancing. She loved attending music concerts, athletic events and the other activities of her children. She had many cherished and enduring friendships.
Jennie is survived by her husband, Dale Ahlstrom and brother, John Ball; Children: Dan (Shannon) Ahlstrom, Bennett (Elizabeth) Ahlstrom, Amy George, Amber (Chris) Moore, Matthew (Krystal) Ahlstrom, Ashley (Johnathan) Potter, and Sid (Krissy) Ahlstrom. She loved her family and adored her 24 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
All those who knew her recall her compassion and sincere interest in uplifting other people. She will be remembered as a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and friend.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 7, 2014, at the LDS Chapel located at 3700 S. Maple Grove, Boise. Graveside services were held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, June 9, 2014, at the Lewisville Cemetery.
