Michael Holeman, 72, of Pekin, IL, passed away Saturday, May 31, 2014, at his residence.
He was born September 24, 1941, in Effingham, IL, to Vernes and Pauline Tabor Holeman.
He married Phyllis Lemons in Pekin, IL, in 1960. She survives along with his two sons, Russell Holeman and Jeffrey (Pam) Holeman; eight sisters, Shirley Holeman, Bernice (Paul) Luft, Marjorie Wolfe, Linda Calvert, Janice Holeman, Sharon Sue (Robert, Jr.) Beetschen, Florence Holeman and Karen (Dave) Hart; one brother, Vernes (Patty) Holeman and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Kenneth Holeman, Jerry Holeman and George "Eddie" Holeman. Michael served in the U.S. Army Military Police serving in Germany. He worked for Caterpillar starting in 1963 and retiring in 1992. He was an avid gardener and sportsman; he especially enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was always helping others and will be greatly missed. Cremation has been accorded and per his wishes no services will be held.
