George Edward "Eddie" Holeman, 73, of Pekin, passed away at 7:49 p.m. Friday, Nov. 1, 2013, at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria. He was born June 24, 1940, in Effingham to Vernes Louis and Pauline Tabor Holeman.

His parents preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Kenneth Holeman and Jerry Holeman.

Surviving are eight sisters, Shirley Holeman, Bernice (Paul) Luft, Marjorie Wolfe, Linda Calvert, Janice Holeman, Sharon Sue (Robert, Jr.) Beetschen, Flo Holeman, and Karen (Dave) Hart, all of Pekin; two brothers, Vernes (Patty) Holeman of Rome and Michael (Phyllis) Holeman of Pekin; and many nieces and nephews.

Eddie worked for the Pekin Daily Times for 35 years, retiring in 1997 as a pressman.

He was an honorary life member of the Graphic Communications International Union. He also was a life member of the Pekin Archery Club and the North American Hunting Club.

Eddie enjoyed hunting, fishing and photography.

His funeral will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 5, at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. The Rev. W. Lloyd Brock will officiate.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Lakeside Cemetery in Pekin.

Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
