"WILLIAM A. ASBURY"
"William Andrew Asbury, 91, of Sheridan, died April 9, 1978, at McMinnville Hospital. Services will be Thursday, April 13 at 2 p.m. at Adamson's Sheridan Funeral Home with interment in Green Crest Memorial Park.
'Andy' Asbury was born Aug. 19, 1886 in Martinsburg, Neb. the son of Isaac and Annie Steven [sic] Asbury. He lived in Nebraska and South Dakota and was graduated from the University of Nebraska.
He came to Oregon in the 1920's and owned and operated an apple orchard until his retirement a few years ago. He married Amy E. Swan in Watertown, S.D. on Jan 1, 1910. She died in 1962.
In Carlton he married Lola McGhee on Oct. 25, 1963. She also preceded him in death in 1965 {sic - s.b. 1975}.
Mr. Asbury was a member of the Buell Grange, past president, and Sheridan Christian Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Ruth Potter, Sheridan; a sister, Vera Cox, North Bend; three grand children; and nine great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may [be] made to the Sheridan Christian Church Building Fund."

His father (Isaac Abraham Asbury) lived to 103, and his grandfather (William Henry Asbury) lived to 94! Even his great-grandfather, Richard Asbury (b. 1810) lived to 84! These 4 generations of Asbury men span 168 years and represent a cumulative lifespan of 372 Years! - pretty good genes!
