Leonard E. Aunkst, 76, of Musser Lane, Watsontown, died Friday, May 30, 2014, at Evangelical Community Hospital, Lewisburg.
Born Nov. 25, 1938, in Muncy Creek Township, Lycoming County, he was the son of the late Lloyd W. and Bessie M. (Wertz) Aunkst.
On Oct. 5, 1957, he married the former Emma M. Shreck and they celebrated 56 years of marriage until her death on April 8, 2014.
Leonard was a veteran, having served with the U.S. Marines Corps for seven years.
He had worked at the former Montgomery Mills, Jasper Wood Products and retired from New Columbia Joist in 2002.
He was a member of the Iron Workers Union, the Watsontown American Legion and the NRA.
Surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law,
Peggy L. and John Andrews of Exchange
Diana L. and Jesse Mack of Lewisburg;
four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren;
two brothers and one sister.
Preceding him in death besides his wife were six brothers and sisters.
Friends and family are invited to a graveside service at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Delaware Run Cemetery, Musser Lane, Watsontown, with Pastor Sam Corderman and Pastor Butch Woolsey officiating.
