FARMINGTON — Mr. Anthony Guerrera, 91, of Village Gate in Farmington, passed away peacefully Monday, May 26, 2014, at John Dempsey Hospital in Farmington. He was the widower of Geneva (Ouellette) Guerrera.

Anthony was born in Pontelandolfo, Benevento, Italy, son of the late Giuseppe "Joseph" and Michela (Santopietro) Guerrera. He served his country honorably in the United States Army during the Second World War. He was a supervisor at Risdon Manufacturing for 45 years and later at the Pin Factory until his retirement.

Anthony loved gardening, making homemade wine, making and curing traditional Italian sausage. He was a member of the Hill Street Social Club. He enjoyed playing bingo and was a longtime member of St. Lucy's Church in Waterbury and St. Catherine's Church in Lancaster, S.C. Anthony also resided in Lancaster, S.C., and Thomaston, Conn.

He leaves behind a daughter, Brenda Pearson and her husband, John, of Lancaster, S.C.; a daughter-in-law, Helen Henderson Guerrera of Thomaston; a son, Michael Guerrera of Pooler, Ga.; five grandchildren, specifically Tony Guerrera and his fiance, John, of Glastonbury, Melissa Luke and her husband, David, of Portland, Joseph Pearson and his wife, Abby, of Charleston, S.C., and Daniel Pearson of Charleston, S.C.; and four great-grandchildren, specifically Hirsh Pearson of Charleston, S.C. Besides his wife of 66 years, he was predeceased by a son, Anthony J. Guerrera, and a sister, Marguerite Ferrelli.

Arrangements: A graveside service with full military honors will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at Calvary Cemetery. There will be no calling hours. Anthony's beloved wife, Geneva, will also be buried that day, as they find their final resting place together, as it should be, for eternity. Services have been entrusted to Chase Parkway Memorial/The Albini Family Funeral Home, 430 Chase Parkway, Waterbury.
