Lester A. Arbogast, 86, of Carrollton, died July 3, 2005. Born December 23, 1918, at Pendleton, West Virginia, he was the son of the late Irvin and Ella (Mick) Arbogast. He was a laborer with the Wheeling and Lake Erie-Nickelplate for 40 years, retiring in 1983. He was a lifetime resident of the Carrollton area, he was a member of the Carrollton Baptist Temple and a former member of the F.O.E. #2183. On May 25, 1940, he married Bertha (Burns) who died in August 1978. His second wife, Hazel Wagner, whom he married in December 1980, died in March 1996.
Survivors include a daughter Nancy (Dean) Bartholow of Minerva; three sons, John (Bety) Arbogast of Springview, New York, Don (Darla) Arbogast of Carrollton, and Robert (Sue) Arbogast of Carrollton; a sister, Betsy Brodzinski of Aurora; 13 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by an infant son, David, two brothers, Julian and Raymond; and three sisters, Ethel Morgan Josephine Dunlap and Joy McCartney. Services were held July 6 in Allmon-Dugger-Cotton Funeral Home at Carrollton with Pastor David L. Powell officiating. burial was in Westview Cemetery.
