Ellen D. Linsenbigler, 67, of Ebensburg, formerly of New Kensington and Lower Burrell, passed away peacefully Sunday, May 25, 2014, surrounded by her loving family. She was born March 31, 1947, in Tarentum, the only child of James E. and Ellen D. Fasolas Norman. Ellen graduated from Kiski High School and Franco Beauty Academy and co-owned the "Beauty Shop" along with Clara Mitchell in New Kensington for many years. She and her husband later lived in New York, Vermont, New Hampshire and Connecticut, where she worked with special needs children, and returned to Pennsylvania in 1999, settling in Ebensburg. She enjoyed quilting and was a member of the Dam Quilters of Crooked Creek, cooking and baking, and especially spending time with her family. Mrs. Linsenbigler belonged to Community Baptist Church of Delmont. Surviving are her husband of 46 years, James G. Linsenbigler; daughter, Sue Ellen (Daniel) Stiver, of Punxsutawney; and her grandson, Zachariah (Kathrine) Stiver, of Grampian. Viewing will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in ROSS G. WALKER FUNERAL HOME LTD., 217 Freeport Road, New Kensington. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in Allegheny Valley Baptist Church, 2855 Freeport Road, Natrona Heights, PA 15065. The Rev. Ron Burkett will officiate. Private burial will follow in Greenwood Memorial Park, Lower Burrell.
