Nora M. Lynn, 90, formerly of Riverside, died at Penn State Geisinger Medical Center Sunday afternoon, January 4, 1998. She was a resident of the Grandview Health Care Center for 3 1/2 years.
Born February 14, 1907, in Emporium (Birth Certificate states she was born in Cameron, Cameron County), she was a daughter of the late Charles (according to US Naturalization Records, fathers name was Karl) and Annie Cook Burkland.
She was a member of St. Peter's United Methodist Church, Riverside. She belonged to the Women's Sunday school class and was a member of the United Methodist Women.
Her husband, Harry Lynn, died in May 1992. Six brothers: Harry, John, Albert, Donald, Roland and Joseph Burkland, and a sister, Mary Priest, also died previously.
Surviving are two sons: Harry Lynn Jr., and William "Dick" Lynn, both of Riverside; two daughters: Mrs. Wayne (Elinora) Strausser, Danville; and Darlis Carl, Riverside; 17 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; and 14 great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Robert Burkland, Danville; and two sisters: Ruth Burkland and Beatrice Buchhofer, both of Riverside.
Services will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at St. Peter's United Methodist Church, Riverside, with her pastor, the Rev. Byron Krapf, officiating. Burial will be in Elan Memorial Park, Lime Ridge.
Arrangements are under the direction of the David J. Brady Funeral Home, Danville.
