Leon Wayne Felts, 75, of Statesville, passed away Wednesday, May 21, 2014 at his home.

Mr. Felts was born September 10, 1938 in Wilkes County, NC to the late Luther and Bell Parks Felts (Lois Kemp Felts). He was a graduate of Union Grove High School and served in the US Air Force. On July 1, 1970, he was married to Betty Shumaker Felts, who survives of the home. He was a member of Yadkin Baptist Church, was retired from Intercraft, Inc. and was an avid sports fan, especially Duke Basketball and the L.A. Dodgers.

In addition to his wife of 43 years, he is survived by two daughters, Amanda F. Bobbitt (Justin) and Sheena F. Dunford, two grandchildren, Cowan Bobbitt, Grayson Felts, one brother, Don Felts (Maxine), three sisters, Virginia Burke, Evelyn Johnston and Rachel Gregory (Bobby) and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by four brothers, Kermit Felts, Gene Felts, David Felts and Johnny Felts.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 24, 2014 at Yadkin Baptist Church with Rev. Tony Bunton and Rev. Dr. J.B. Parker officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 12:30-2:00 p.m. in the Church Fellowship Hall.
