Son of George (1856-1915) and Laura(1862-1957). Brother of Charles Heidt(1884-1939),Ella Heidt (1887-1917), Della Heidt (1887-1896), George Heidt (1888-1951), Elmer Heidt (1893-1976), Lester Heidt (1895-1969), Albert Heidt(1897-1960), Elsie Heidt Haskell (1899-1985) Mary Heidt (1903-1924), Florence Heidt Bauman (1906-1930) ,and Mabel Heidt (1909-1923). Fred was a strong handsome young man in great shape. It was said he could lift a bail of hay in each hand with a pitchfork and load them on the back of a wagon witn ease. He was engaged to be married when he died suddenly of tuberculosis at the age of 23. He was the only Heidt brother to be taken by the disease that would take four of his sisters.
