Helen Gage Posted on: Saturday, March 06, 2010 Helen Gage died March 1, 2010. A memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. March 9, 2010, at the Kramer Funeral Home in Palouse. Pastor Kathy Kramer will officiate. Mrs. Gage passed away at Aspen Park Healthcare in Moscow, where she has made her home since July 2009. Cremation has taken place. Helen was born July 3, 1917, in Brush, Colo., to George and Katie Walter. She attended school in Brush and graduated from Brush High School. She married John Gage on Aug. 5, 1942, in San Diego, Calif., while Mr. Gage was serving with the United States Marine Corps. After his military service, the couple moved to Princeton, Idaho, where they farmed and raised cattle. Mr. Gage died in 2009. Helen enjoyed gardening, cooking for the harvest crew and her flower garden. Survivors include her children, Ivan Gage of Moscow, Karen Cate and her husband, Wayne, of Meridian, Idaho, George Gage and his wife, Nita, of Lincoln City, Ore., Phil Gage and his wife, Skeeter, of Princeton; two sisters, Alma Hirtler and Ruth Brown of San Diego, Calif.; two grandchildren, Corinne and Wes and his wife, Wendy; two great-grandchildren, great-grandson Cody and great-granddaughter, Harley. A special thank you to the staff of Aspen Park Healthcare for the excellent care that was given to Helen the last eight months and to Palouse Medical for their many years of medical care for Helen. The family suggests memorials to the Potlatch Ambulance Fund, in care of the Latah Federal Credit Union, P.O. Box 264, Potlatch, ID 83855. Kramer Funeral Home in Palouse is handling the arrangements.
