Fred Fries Dies Monday at St. Joseph Hospital

Fred Fries, a native of Holt County, died Jan. 6, at a St. Joseph hospital at the age of 74 years, 5 months, and 5 days. He had been in failing health for the past several months.

Son of Joseph and Christina Fuchs Fries, he was born in Holt county Aug. 1, 1900, and moved while still a young boy to the farm which was to be his home the remainder of his life. He was married to Janet Thomson, Aug. 19, 1922. He was a good neighbor and farmer and a member of the Pleasant View Presbyterian church.

He is survived by his wife, Janet (Jennie) of the home.

Funeral services will be held today, Thursday, at the Pleasant View Presbyterian Church with Rev. Clarence Smith in charge. Burial will be in the New Liberty Cemetery.

Margaret Graves is in charge of music and pallbearers are: Richard W. Thomson, Donald Thomson, John C. Thomson, Joseph S. Thomson, Paul Stevenson, and Dan Cornelison.
