Andrew S. Baer of Hot Springs passed away Wednesday, May 21, 2014 at the VA Medical Center in Hot Springs. He was 86 years old.

Andrew was born October 25, 1927 at Ipswich, to Leo and Theresa (Schmidt) Baer. After high school, he served in the Army-Air Force and later married Ruth Feickert.

Survivors include his wife; five sons and three daughters. He is also survived by his brother, a sister, 16 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.,

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, May 24, 2014, at the Michael J. Fitzmaurice State Veterans Home in Hot Springs. Interment will be held at noon on Friday, June 20, 2014 at the Black Hills National Cemetery in Sturgis.

A memorial has been established in Andrew's name for the Guest House at the Michael J. Fitzmaurice State Veterans Home.
