Funeral services for Melvin Danny Mapp, 56, will be 2:00 p.m. Friday in the Centennial Chapel of the Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home conducted by Rev. Morgan Ashworth. Interment will be at Legate Cemetery.
The son of Thurman Cecil Mapp, Jr. and Willie Belle (Roberts) Mapp, Melvin was born on June 30, 1957 in Ardmore, Oklahoma and passed away on May 18, 2014 in the Mercy Hospital.
A resident of Ardmore most of his life, Melvin attended the Ardmore Public Schools. Melvin had worked both in the construction business as well as be a window glazier. He enjoyed being around friends and
family and was known to help anybody. Melvin was of the Baptist Faith.
He is survived by his son, Mark Mapp- Steudeman, of Ardmore; brothers Dennis Mapp of Tulsa, OK and both Andy and Rick Mapp of Ravia, OK; sisters, Bonnie Burton or Ravia, OK and Connie Mapp of Mill Creek, OK. Preceded in death by parents and sister, Debra Lynn Blue.
