Marcellus Edward Lindsey Thralls, 72, a former Greene County resident, died Sunday, April 25, 1948, in Seattle, Wash., according to word received yesterday by his brother, Major E. W. Thralls, of near Spraggs.

Mr. Thralls was born on the ancestral farm in Monongalia County, W. Va., near Blacksville, a son of Richard and Charlotte Temple Thralls, each a descendant of early colonial settlers. He attended the public schools in Greene County and also Waynesburg College. In his earlier years he taught school in Wayne township, and served in the U. S. Navy around the turn of the century. He had traveled extensively in the Americas and in foreign countries.

Besides Major Thralls he leaves one other brother, Capt. Francis Thralls, of Miami, Fla., and two sisters, Mrs. Lucy Renner, of Waynesburg and Mrs. Rosella Hunnell, of near Spraggs.
