John E. Arrington "Grandpa John" 1922 ~ 2007 John Edward Arrington, 84, born July 1, 1922, passed away peacefully in his sleep on March 3, 2007, of congestive heart failure. Born in Milford, Utah to Cammon A. and Vivian Hickman Arrington. Served in Europe in the Army during World War II. Married Mary Payne of England on February 21, 1948, in Berlin. Graduated 1952 from the U. of U. with a BS degree in Political Science. Retired Attorney Negotiator for Farmer's Insurance. Pursued a successful career in real estate. Active member of Footprinters and 49ers civic clubs. He was an avid bowler and loved fishing on the Weber River. Thanks go to all the wonderful people at Atria Assisted Living in Sandy for their help and support, and to officer T.M. McGrath, Sandy City P.D. Survived by son Craig (Carole) Arrington, Patricia (Doug) Griffith, five grandsons: Michael, Bill, James, Jeff, and Will; six great-grand-children; brothers Irby (Faith) Arrington, Burton Arrington, brother-in-law Curtis McCullough; and many loved nieces and nephews. Also survived by his special companion, Fran Ellis. Preceded in death by wife Mary, and four sisters: Billie, Virginia, Betty, and Sally. Funeral services: Tuesday, March 13 at 2:00 p.m. at the Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park chapel, 3401 So. Highland Dr. Viewing on Monday, March 12, from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m., and one hour prior to the Tuesday's funeral service.
