The face of this slate stone sloughed off, likely several years ago from the erosion patterns and lack of extant debris. It was apparently intact for an earlier census of this cemetery, as the entire long inscription was recounted. As you can see on this stone, only the first couple words of the last line are still visible on the stone ("The appearance"), but that and the proximity to his wife Elizabeth's stone is enough to confirm that it is the stone of Amos Lamson: ""With Heavenly weapons I fought/The battles of the Lord;/Finished my course and kept the faith/And wait the sure reward./God has laid up in Heaven for me/A crown which cannot fade;/The righteous Judge at that great day/Shall place it on my head;/Nor hath the King of grace decreed/This prize for me alone./But all who love and long to see/The appearance of His son."

Extensive erosion of this stone renders it unreadable, save the first two words of the last line of the inscription (see caption for the closeup photo for more details). It is also located just to the left side of his wife Elizabeth's stone; the corner of Elizabeth's stone is just visible in the right side of the photo.
