Son of Wawrzyniec "Lawrence" and Maryanna "Mary" (nee Bujarski) Kaniecki.

There is confusion about in what month and on what day in 1896 Henry was born. His WWI and WWII draft registration cards indicate that the date was February 15th. However, his death certificate and the Social Security Death Index both agree that it was November 9th. Since the latter is officially "the last word," and also is the date that his daughters accepted as valid, that date is being accepted and reflected for presentation atop this memorial. Both mentioned dates on record are definitely for the one and same correct person, as the same home address (266 S. Duncan St., Baltimore) that appears on Henry's WWII draft registration card matches the address that he, wife, and daughters were residing at at the time of the 1940 census. (See posted, within this Find A Grave memorial, three document images that illustrate and prove that it was one and the same Henry Kaniecki being documented on each of the pictured records.)

Henry, a Private First Class, served in Company E of the 5th Maryland Infanty, and in Company E of the 115th Infanty, during World War I, serving overseas from 6/15/1918 to 5/24/1919. He was honourably discharged from the military on 6/6/1919.

The following year he wed Marie "Mamie" E. Zaworski. The couple had four children: Marie "Maxie" C. (Reis), Margaret "Marge" F. (Burns / Shipley), Bernadette D. (Rupp), and Mildred H. (Reif).

Henry, a lifelong Baltimorean, last resided and passed away at 522 S. Decker Ave. He was retired from Bethlehem Steel.

Funeral arrangements were handled by Lilly & Zeiler, Inc., 1901-07 Eastern Ave., Baltimore.
