John R. Ellis, 82. of 241 Division street, passed away at Mercy hospital at 9:27 o'clock this morning after an illness of one week-
He was born In December, 1867. An Oshkosh resident for the past 18 years, Mr. Ellis had formerly operated a farm in the town of Vinland for about 18 years.
He married the former Mary Umlauf in the town of Utica in 19Q2. She preceded him in death in June, 1931. Mr. Ellis was member of First Baptist temple.
Survivors are two sons. Elmer Ellis, Route 1, Neenah, and Gordon Ellis, Oshkosh, and a sister, Mrs. Sarah Evans of this city. Also surviving, are a half-brother, Edward Ellis, Eureka, and seven grandchildren..
Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 2-30 o'clock at the Spikes & McDonald funeral home with the Rev. William F. Long of First Baptist temple officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home from 7 p. m. Friday until the time of services. Mr. Ellis will be buried in Peace Lutheran cemetery.
