Donald Oscar Probasco, 85, of Milford passed away on Sunday, May 11, 2014 at Sheldon Health Care Center in Sheldon.
Donald was born April 1, 1929 in Indiana, the son of Harvey and Nettie Fink Probasco. He married Ethel Cloud on December 20, 1958 in Danville, IL and she survives.
Besides his wife, Ethel, he is survived by one daughter, Mary (Roger) Wilken of Milford; two granddaughters, Amy (Frank) Schuler of Normal and Brandy (Anthony) Beck of Loda; five great-grandchildren, Joshua, Benea, Joe, and Sydnee Schuler and Bryson Crow; two sisters, Betty Longest of Milford and Elna Bertram of Milford; and one brother, Frank Probasco of Danville.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother; and one sister.
Mr. Probasco served in the U.S. Army during World War II and later worked at FMC in Hoopeston. He was a member of the Milford Nazarene Church. Donald enjoyed gardening, his roses, and reading.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 14, 2014 at Knapp Funeral Home in Milford. Rev. Robert Killion will officiate. Burial will be at Floral Hill Cemetery in Hoopeston. Military rites will be provided by the Watseka American Legion Post #23 and Iroquois County VFW Post #7450.
Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 13, 2014 at Knapp Funeral Home in Milford.
Memorials may be made to Sheldon Health Care Center or Vitas Hospice.
