Jimmy Chapman of Alexandria died Saturday at UMC Hospital in Lebanon. He was a DeKalb County native and a retired employee of TVA. The funeral will be Monday at 2:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Anderson Funeral Home in Alexandria. Jack Patterson will officiate and burial will be in Brush Creek Cemetery. Chapman was preceded in death by his parents, Jim Grady and Lillie Cripps Chapman. Survivors include children, Jimmy Wayne Chapman of Smithville, Richard Chapman of Alexandria, and Lisa and her husband Kevin Cox of Liberty. The children's mother, Omega Sue Chapman Sanders of Smithville. Grandchildren, Timothy Chapman, Jerry Chapman, Johnny Chapman, Felicia Gibbs and Julie Chapman all of Smithville, Cory Chapman and Jamie Gibbs of Alexandria, and Takeshia Thomason of Liberty. Step grandchildren, Kevin Cox, Jr. of Liberty, Eric Cox of Murfreesboro, and Angie Cox of Watertown. Twelve great grandchildren also survive. Anderson Funeral Home in Alexandria is in charge of the arrangements.
