Armon was a lifetime resident of Lucy, NM, a rancher/ farmer, and a member of the First Baptist Church of Corona, NM.
Armon married Margaret Plemons on April 4, 1992 in Albuquerque, NM.
Armon was preceded in death by his parents, first wife, Ollie Austin (Steele), sons, Neil Dwight Austin and Rollin Randolph Austin, sister, Bonnie Moselle Thigpen, brother, Harvey Preston Austin and step-son, Wally Plemons.
Armon is survived by his wife, Margaret Austin of Albuquerque, NM, son, Lyndal Austin and his wife, Rudine of Lucy, NM, daughter, Bonnie Sue Thomas of Estancia, NM, two step-daughters, Sallie Bueno of California and Marilyn Tredwell and her husband, Charles of Albuquerque, NM, 18 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
There will be a viewing on Friday, May 9, 2014 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Harris-Hanlon Mortuary in Mountainair, NM. The Funeral Service will be on Saturday, May 10, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Corona, NM with Pastor Cal West and Pastor John Spruill officiating. Burial will follow the service at the Estancia Cemetery in Estancia, NM. Pallbearers will be James Lackey, Benny Paschall, Wendell Wells, Archie Lackey, David Tracey, Danny Lueras and John Sisk. Honorary Pallbearers will be Dub Artman, Jack Dial, Kenneth Thigpen, Weldon Austin, Austin Vick, Wayne Connell and Beryl Gustin.
