BARABOO — Helen L. (Nuzem) [Nuzum] (Niles) Roche, age 77, of Baraboo, passed away on Saturday, October 24, 1987, at University Hospital in Madison. She was born on September 14, 1911, in Spokane, Washington, the daughter of Franklin and Martha (Killian) Nuzem [Nuzum]. She married the late John Niles on April 24, 1930, and he preceded her in death on May 4 [2], 1965. Mrs. Roche was a life-long Baraboo resident, and she retired from the Snow White Garment Factory, after thirty years of sewing there and at other factories. Mrs. Roche married John E. Roche, on September 16, 1979. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, the Ladies Aid Circle, Sauk County Homemakers, and the University Extension Homemakers. Mrs. Roche is survived by twelve children, thirty-nine grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 28, 1987, at 1:00 p.m., in the FIRST UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, with Pastor Clyde Cross officiating. Interment will be in Walnut Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be at the HANSON FUNERAL HOME, on Tuesday evening, from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m., and at the church one hour prior to the service. Memorials may be made to the Kidney Foundation.
