Georgia Lee Ragland was born September 24, 1925 in Center, Oklahoma to Frank and Mary (Henry) Townsley. She passed away December 13, 2000 in Oklahoma at the age of 75.
Georgia Lee and Leon were lifelong members of the Del City Assembly of God Church. She and Leon loved their church family and being able to fellowship with them often. She enjoyed cooking family meals and going to the beauty shop every week. Many a story was shared around her dining room table while she was shelling and sorting beans for the next meal or snapping beans and peas for a soup. She learned how to can vegetables at a very young age and was always quick to share them with anyone in need. Meals at Nanny and Papa's house were never a small affair. She cooked in huge pots and pans and always had plenty to share with anyone that might stop by. Nanny and Papa loved growing roses and cantelope, they always laughed about who's garden was bigger.
Her favorite restaurant was Furr's Café, which her granddaughters affectionately nicknamed "Nanny's Furr's. Many an after church supper was had for all to enjoy there. Nanny could always be seen in her dresses, beads, and wearing her favorite Tabu perfume.
