Final rites will be held Monday for Lula M. Curtis, 73, of 2066 F, who died today in a local hospital following a short illness. Mrs. Curtis is survived by her husband, Melvin; 10 children: Inez Hightower and Eula Fickel, both of Stockton; Jewel Simonich, of Lodi; Katherine Pyle, of Albuquerque, N.M.; James B. Curtis, Orville Curtis, and Charles Curtis, all of Fremont; Odell Curtis, of Rochester, N.Y.; Herman Curtis of Palo Alto, and Patricia Carey of Burlingame; a brother, Charley Burrous, of San Leandro; three sisters, Pearl Williams, Dollie Woodruff, and Lillie Mears, all of Oklahoma City; 10 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.
A native of Oklahoma, Mrs. Curtis had lived in Stockton for 27 years. She and her husband celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in 1962. Burial Lodi Memorial Park
