Floyd S. Cook, 73, New Castle, father of Virgil Cook of Anderson, died at the Henry County Hospital at New Castle after a brief illness Wednesday.
He had owned and operated the Cook Cement Block Company in New Castle for 25 years, retiring in 1958. His wife Anna Ruth, died in 1958.
Surviving are two daughters, Ruth Bailey and Lavaughn Irwin; three sons, Donald, Maurice and Virgil; sister, Mrs. Jessie Bookout; and two brothers, Howard and Willard.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday at the Macer Funeral Home. Burial will be in South Mound Cemetery.
