Ruth's father then married the youngest daughter in that family, "Nettie", Ruth's mother.
Ruth's maternal grandmother Kari Botolvsdatter Larson, born 1850 in Norway, was on the same ship in 1851 from Norway to America, with my g.grandfather Bendik J. Fjerstad, being first cousins and their mothers, Kari and Kristi, sisters. Kari and Bendik grew up on neighboring farms in Canisteo, Dodge County, MN where they were confirmed, as were their siblings and other cousins.
