Hazel survived two husbands, Leo Wilder, whom she married at Lake Sylvia on June 22, 1933, passed away in 1970; and Robert Maloy whom she married in Elma on November 5, 1977, passed away in 1991.
Hazel resided in Bellingham, Port Gamble, White Star, Lake Sylvia, Montesano, Elma and McCleary. She was a member of the McCleary VFW Auxiliary, the Montesano Eagles for over 69 years, Elma Senior Center for over 37 years, Greenwood Homemakers, RSVP and the Senior Companion Program.
Hazel was famous for her cookies. She was a wonderful cook and baker. She loved playing bingo, going on scenic drives and spending time with family. Over the years, Hazel hand sewed over a thousand baby quilts.
Hazel is survived by her children, Earl (Linda) Wilder, of Satsop, Carol (Bill) Muhlhauser, of Montesano, Sharon Ninemire, of Elma, Karen (Larry) Zillyette-Rogers, of Montesano, Ruth (Frank) Leopard, of Aberdeen and Jim Maloy of California. Hazel is also survived by over 100 grand, great- and great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husbands, Leo and Robert; Hazel is preceded in death by her children, Margaret Ingham, Shirley Powers, Vern Wilder, Beverly Wilder, Bruce Wilder; grandchildren, Debbie Chesna, Tina Wilder, Kirby Muhlhauser; step-grandchildren, Jerry Maloy, Tom Maloy, Michael Maloy; and great-grandchild, Lance Combs.
Funeral services will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 19, 2012, at Whiteside Family Mortuary in Elma. A graveside committal service will be held 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 22, 2012, at Wynoochee Cemetery in Montesano.
