Death Claimed Aged Resident of Near Saltsburg
Following a 2 years illness of a complication of diseases, Mrs. Mary Jane (Earhart) Gallagher, wife of James Gallagher, aged 76 years, died at her home near Saltsburg Sunday evening at 5:30 o'clock. She was born July 3, 1853, a daughter of Anthony and Mary (Frederick) Earhart and had lived in Saltsburg for 9 years prior to moving to her late residence, where she lived for 38 years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Saltsburg.
She and Mr. Gallagher had been married for 57 years. They had 7 children, and the mother's death forms the first break in the family circle. She was held in the highest esteem and will be missed by her many friends and neighbors. She leaves her husband and these children: Miss Madge Gallagher and Edward and Charles Gallagher of the home; Mrs. Marie Stevenson, Mrs. Pearl Huey and John H. Gallagher of New Alexandria; and Mrs. Viola Stewart of Massillon, Ohio. She also leaves a brother George Earhart of Salina; and a sister Mrs. Nettie Sipee of Tripp, South Dakota, and 22 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted in her home Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock. Interment will be in Edgewood Cemetery.
