Mrs. SMITH HARRIS
Mrs. Exelia (Boutin) Harris, 73, of Shaftsbury, widow of Smith T. Harris, died at Putnam Memorial Hospital Saturday afternoon after a long illness. She had been a resident of Shaftsbury for many years.
The daughter of Napoleon and Eugenie (Marcoux) Boutin, she was born in Jacksonville March 14, 1898. Her education was in Bennington schools. She was married to Mr. Harris in Sacred Heart Church Nov 17, 1924. Mr. Harris died Nov 29, 1965.
Survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Paul (Louise) Gauthier and Mrs. Edward (Madeline) Wansbury, both of Shaftsbury; two sons, Paul J. Harris of Shaftsbury and John J. Harris of Hollywood, Fla.; 12 grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Lena Clifford of Cohoes, N.Y., and two brothers, Henry and Adjutor Boutin, both of Bennington; one aunt, Mrs. Bessie Leonard of Daytona Beach, Fla.; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
The funeral will be held at Mahar & Son Funeral Home Tuesday at 9:15 am with a prayer and in St. John the Baptist Church, North Bennington, at 10 where the Liturgy of Christian Death and Burial will be offered.
Visiting hours at the funeral home are today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Recitation of the Rosary will be at 8:30 tonight.
If friends desire, contributions in her memory may be made to a favorite charity through the funeral home offices.
Interment will be at a later date in St. John's Cemetery, North Bennington.
