James Roger Bullion was my 3rd great grandpa and the husband of Hannah Flenner, my 3rd great grandma who died in Clark, Illinois in 1852. He remarried and moved West with his new wife and family by 1870.

He was seen in records from 1840-1870 as James R. Bulion but I have other relatives where James/John were used interchangeably, so I am not surprised to see this. James and Sarah remained in Janesville, Greenwood, Kansas for the remainder of their lives.

James was a 'Druggist" and placed several advertisements in the Clark County Herald, Clark, Illinois for different medicines. It was obvious he was well educated as his language skills and ability to write were above what was the norm for the time. He was also involved in local politics.
