He served in the US Army and received the purple heart after being wounded in Vietnam. He worked for Dale Sales Co. for over 25 years. He found his calling working with US Veterans for 15 years at Veteran Services prior to retirement due to illness. Even during his illness he found the strength to fish and Bar-B-Q.
Jay was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Frank Ball.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years Linda (Susott) Ball; daughter, Lori Ball; son Andrew Ball (Josah); great grandson, Andrew Jay Ball; sisters, Joy Phillips (Harold, deceased), Jill Hagan (Steve), Louise Ball (wife of Frank, deceased); "mom", Opal Susott; and many loving nieces and nephews.
A special thanks to Dr. Michael Titzer and staff at OHA; Dr. Strickland, Karen, Tina, Darla, and the staff at the V.A. clinic; and to all our family and friends that have helped us through this difficult time.
