Tim M. Overby, age 80, of Orrville, went to be with the Lord on Friday, April 25, 2014, at his residence following a period of declining health.

Overby was born on October 9, 1933, in Paducah, Kentucky, to Elvis and Margarite (Thompson) Overby and married Wanda L. (Deel) Owens on September 5, 1992, in Wooster. Wanda survives.

He worked as a crane operator for Wooster Iron and Metal for 34 years, retiring in 1999.

Overby was a member of the Orrville Christian Church. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and his retirement years including the Sliver Sneakers at the Orrville YMCA. He especially loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, Wanda, he is survived by two daughters, Margaret (Tom) Varner of West Salem, and Regena (Jerry) Harter of Canton; four grandchildren, Christopher (Kelly) Varner of Azores, Portugal, Elizabeth Varner of Barberton, Benjamin (Becky) Varner of Barberton, and Laura (Tim) Smith of Hartville; seven great-grandchildren, Alex, Grace, Hale, Michael, Catherine, Victoria, and Wyatt; brother, Dick (Leslie) Overby of Tenn.; and two sisters, JoFrancis Morefield of Ky., and Wilma Greene of Ky.

He was preceded in death by both parents, his first wife, Shirley, and a brother, Curtis Overby.

The family would like to thank the neighbors, LifeCare Hospice, and the Orrville Christian Church family for their kindness and loving care during Tim's illness.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, April 29, 2014, at Orrville Christian Church, 925 North Elm Street, Orrville, Ohio 44667 with Rev. Tom Ledford officiating. Burial will take place at Crown Hill Cemetery in Orrville.

Friends may call on Monday at Auble Funeral Home in Orrville from 6-8 p.m. or one hour prior to services at the church on Tuesday. Online registry and expressions of condolence may be made at the funeral home's website at www.aublefuneralhome.com.
