Mary is daughter of Wilhelmire Tillman and William Samuel Schwartz.
Mary and Daniel Harrer married in the year of 1891. They have four daughters:

Bay City Times, April 13, 1957, page 2, col 1. "Cleric's Widow Passes at Home. Mrs. Mary Harrer Was ILL Three Years. Mrs. Mary C. Harrer, 89, widow of the Rev. Daniel Harrer, died Friday at her home, 250 North VanBuren Street, following a three-year illness. Born in Kenosha, Wis., Feb. 5, 1868, she came here in 1916, later spent 15 years in Pasadena, Calif., and returned here in 1948. The former Mary C. Schwartz, she was a member of VanBuren Methodist Church which her husband at one time served as pastor. He died in 1940. Surviving her are: four daughters, Mrs. Charles Licht, Mrs. Harold Nenke, Mrs. Clarence Reuter, and Miss Frieda Harrer, all of Bay City; six grandchildren; and two great grandchildren. Funeral services will be Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock at Vallender and Penzien Funeral home. The Rev. Dee W. Cobb will officiate. Burial will be in Green Ridge cemetery."
