The following obituary appeared in the "Indiana Evening Gazette" (Indiana, PA) on Wednesday, February 3, 1954, page 2, column 8:

WALTER BLYSTONE of Waterman passed away Tuesday morning at his late home in White Township.

Born January 2, 1890, in Creekside, son of the late George and Violetta McBryre [sic] Blystone, the deceased had been a blacksmith by trade.

He is survived by these brothers and sisters: Lyle E. Blystone, Indiana, R. D. 3; Mrs. Catherine Overdorff, Terre Haute, Indiana; Mrs. Annie Rice, Waterman; Mrs. Leroy Stitler, Home; John Blystone, Indiana, Pa.; Mrs. Bertha Woolweaver and Mrs. Cora Kline, both of Windham, Ohio; Blaine Blystone, Plumville, and Beryl Blystone of Gary, Indiana.

Friends will be received after 7 p.m. today at the Bell Funeral Home, Wayne avenue, Indiana, where services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday. The Rev. Lawrence R. Doak will officiate, and interment will follow in Oakland cemetery.
