Charlotte - Lee Gessler Arzani, age 98, passed away February 5, 2003, at Presbyterian Wesley Care Center, Charlotte, NC.

She was born on July 5, 1904 in Syracuse, NY, and was preceded in death by her loving husband of 64 years, Victor Arzani, in 1990.

Surviving family members are son, Gessler Arzani of Charlotte, NC; daughter, Roanna Askew of Marathon, NY, and her sister, Doris Herkes, of Syracuse, NY. Also surviving are nine grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Burial services will be private and will be held in Syracuse, NY at a later date.

Lee was an avid traveler, and she kept a diary of all of her travel experiences. When she was no longer able to travel, she loved to relive her around the world trip, as well as her many trips to her parents' birthplaces in Germany. While living in Syracuse from 1904 to 1970, Lee was a founding member of the Corinthian Club and a member of the woman's chorus of the Leiderkranz Club. After she and her husband moved to Charlotte in 1970, she was a member of the Charlotte Doll Collectors Club and Senior Scholars.
