Daniel Brady Ellifritz, Jr., 71, of 89 Orchard Street, Keyser, WV, died Sunday, December 12, 2004 at the Heartland of Keyser Nursing Home.
Born on December 27, 1932 at Keyser, WV, he was a son of the late Daniel Brady and Delphia Josephine (Reeves) Ellifritz. He also was preceded in death by a brother, William D. Ellifritz and a sister, Marlene Joy Ellifritz.
Mr. Ellifritz retired after teaching history for 28 years; first at Levels, WV in a one room school, then at the former Ridgeley High School and finally at Frankfort High School. He was a 1951 graduate of Keyser High School, attended Frostburg State College and graduated in 1957 from Shepherd College.
He was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church, Keyser and the Keyser Kiwanis Club, where he received the George F. Hixson Award.
Surviving are one brother, Kenneth H.K. Ellifritz and wife Phyllis of Keyser; one sister, Judith C. Taylor and husband George of Crownsville, MD; one sister-in-law, Linda Ellifritz of Keyser and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends were received at the Smith Funeral Home, Keyser Chapel, on Wednesday, December 15 from 6-8 p.m.
Funeral services were conducted at the Smith Funeral Home, Keyser Chapel, on Thursday, December 16 at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. James A. McCune officiating.
Interment was in the Potomac Memorial Gardens, Keyser.
The family requests that memorial contributions be directed to the Frankfort High School Athletic Boosters, Rt. 3, Box 169, Ridgeley, WV 26753.
