Olean - Dorothy D. Kirtz of 1990 Dugan Road, passed away Thursday (December 9, 2010) at Cuba Memorial Hospital Palliative Care Unit, after a long illness.
Born September 5, 1926 in Richburg, she was the daughter of Archie and Millie Tanner Bean. On November 25, 1950, she married Elmer "Bud" Kirtz, Jr., who predeceased her October 19, 1992.
Mrs. Kirtz was briefly employed at the Power Plant in Eldred, AVX in Olean and the former Acme Electric in Allegany. She enjoyed crafts and loved spending time with her family and grandchildren.
Surviving are 3 daughters, Barbara (Kenneth) Pickett of Shinglehouse, Pamela Eastman of Hinsdale and Roxanne (David Davis) Peterson of Shinglehouse; 1 son, Kenneth (Mary Lou) Bean of Shinglehouse; 5 grandchildren, Alton Eastman, Jr., Tammy Elliott, Bobbie Peterson, Christopher Peterson and Michael Eastman; 13 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband, she was predeceased by a daughter, Judy Kim Kirtz; a granddaughter, Jessica Eastman; a son-in-law, Alton Eastman, Sr.; 3 sisters, Emily Bean, Mable Schram and Mildred Kirtz; 4 brothers, Warren Bean, Willard Bean, Emmett Bean, and Lloyd Bean.
Burial will be in Maple Lawn Cemetery, Bolivar.
