Lavada D. Keene -SOPERTON - Mrs. Lavada D. Keene, age 97, of Soperton died Saturday, March 17.
Mrs. Keene was born in Treutlen County and was a daughter of the late N. E. and Onie Thigpen Deriso. She was preceded in death by her husband, O.B. Keene, her sister, Kate Youmans, and brothers, George and Willie Deriso. She was a member of Harmony Baptist Church, Soperton.
Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Gary and Jean Keene, Macon; and James and Helen Keene, Asheville, NC; grandchildren, Randy (Gina) Keene of Gray, Marti (Chad) Wilson of Macon, Tonya (Chuck) Lynch of Asheville, Stacey Keene and Darren Keene of Asheville; great-grandchildren, Samantha and Emily Keene of Gray, Zakk Keene, Chae and Tyler Lynch, of Asheville.
Graveside services will be held in Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery at 2P.M. Monday, March 19, with the Rev. Jason Corbett officiating. The family will greet friends following the service.
